Bruce Brown is no stranger to the power of numbers. In fact, he’s spent a good portion of his 87 years gathering, analyzing and observing them for the good of his community.

Starting in 1994, Brown, who was then living on Lake Leven in Pope County, volunteered his time to be a lake sampler for the Pope County Coalition of Lake Associations (COLA) monitoring project. Brown’s commitment as a sampler, data compiler, and later as president of Pope County COLA would continue into 2013.
