The city located on the west shore of Lake Minnewaska, at the junction of Highways
28, 29 and 114. It is 130 miles northwest of the Twin Cities. With an economic development board assisting new businesses in getting started, Starbuck
has been gaining in population since 1995. A municipal airport, Minnewaska District Hospital, Minnewaska Area High School, supporting students from Starbuck, Glenwood, Lowry and Villard enrolled
in this joint-effort facility.
